Introduction:

Being a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), Meloxicam is used to relieve symptoms of arthritis including juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis like inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. This drug does not cure arthritis but is helpful in treating it. Meloxicam is an oxicam derivative and is a pastel yellow solid having high solubility with strong acids and bases. Practically, it is insoluble with water and slightly soluble in methanol. It is available under the brand name of Generic Generic Mobic in the form of tablets for oral administration in the strength of 15mg. Sodium citrate, dehydrate, povidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate, crospovidone and colloidal silicon dioxide are in the active ingredients of Generic Generic Mobic tablets in the decreasing order.

Indication:

Generic Generic Mobic tablets are indicated for relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis as well as of rheumatoid arthritis. M-Cam tablets are indicated for relief of the signs and symptoms of pauciarticular or polyarticular course Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis in patients 2 years of age and older.

Mechanism Of Action:

As Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent, it exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activities. In the initial steps of the arachidonic acid cascade, the prostaglandin synthetase (cyclooxygenase) inhibition results in the reduced formation of prostaglandins, thromboxanes and prostacylin and thus reduces the inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain.
